TikTok Shop fees

Every TikTok Shop fee, matched to the sale it came from.

TikTok spreads what it keeps across settlements, warehouse bills, ad invoices and payouts. CogsIQ brings them together and takes each one out of the order and the SKU it belongs to, so profit per SKU is what you actually kept.

30 days free with one shop and 5 purchase orders. No card needed.

Example: one order, one unit

Your discount−$2.00

On every settlement

What a TikTok settlement takes out

Each settled order arrives with its own costs. CogsIQ keeps them as separate lines, matched to the order and to the SKU through its TikTok product ID:

  • Platform commission, TikTok's fee on the sale.
  • Affiliate commission, paid to the creator who drove the order.
  • Seller-funded discounts, the coupons and promotions you paid for.
  • FBT fulfilment fee, per order, when Fulfilled by TikTok shipped it.
  • Shipping charged to you, including return shipping on returned orders.
  • Refunds, from the settlement and the returns report.
  • Platform subsidies, money TikTok credits you, added back as income.

Matching is by TikTok product ID, then seller SKU. A row that matches nothing goes to a review queue rather than vanishing, and corrections are kept as linked records, never silent overwrites.

Off the settlement

The costs that arrive somewhere else

  • Warehouse fees. Storage and other FBT warehouse charges come in through the FBT and warehouse fees report.
  • Ad spend. From the TikTok connection or an ad spend import, matched to SKUs where the ad names one, with return on ad spend per SKU.
  • 3PL handling. For orders your own 3PL ships, a per-order handling fee you set for each 3PL provider.
  • Operating expenses. Software, contractors and other overheads, taken from the shop's profit and never from a single SKU's cost.

Each dollar has one home. Fulfilment charged per order lives with the order, not on a purchase order, so nothing is counted twice.

Credits and discounts

Who paid, and in which direction

A negative fee is a credit

When an order is refunded, TikTok often hands back part of the fees it took. Those lines arrive with a negative sign. Treating them as positive charges loses the money twice, so CogsIQ keeps the sign TikTok sent: the credit lowers your costs once.

Your discount and TikTok's discount are different

A coupon you fund is revenue you gave up, and comes out of revenue. A coupon TikTok funds is paid to you by TikTok, even though the customer paid less, so it stays in revenue. Mixing the two understates revenue on exactly the orders TikTok promoted.

CogsIQ's revenue is the item price less your own discounts and refunds. The GMV guide walks through why that differs from the GMV figure in Seller Center.

Timing

Settled, pending, accrual and cash

An order's fees are only final once TikTok settles it. CogsIQ shows settled orders by default and lets you include pending ones when you want this week's picture.

Profit can be read two ways. On an accrual basis it is counted on the day of the sale, which says whether the shop is trading well. On a cash basis it is what TikTok actually paid out, statement by statement, with the reserve held and released and a forecast of the payouts still to come. The two never match day to day, and the settlements guide explains why.

Questions

Questions

Which TikTok Shop fees does CogsIQ track?

From each settlement: the platform commission, affiliate commission, seller-funded discounts, the FBT fulfilment fee, shipping charged to you, refunds and platform subsidies. Warehouse fees come from the FBT and warehouse fees report, and ad spend from the TikTok connection or an ad spend import.

Does CogsIQ know TikTok's fee rates?

It does not need to. It reads the fee TikTok actually charged on each order from your settlements, so a rate change, a promotion or a fee waiver shows up as it happened.

Why can a fee be negative?

A negative fee is money TikTok handed back, usually because the order was refunded. CogsIQ keeps the sign, so the credit reduces your costs once instead of being counted as a second charge.

Are TikTok's own discounts taken out of my revenue?

No. A discount TikTok funds is money TikTok pays you on the customer's behalf, so it stays in revenue. A discount you fund comes out of revenue.

Do I have to connect my TikTok Shop?

No. Every figure can come from the reports you already download from Seller Center. Connecting the shop just brings orders, settlements, returns, payouts and ad spend in every 6 hours on its own.
